Join us as a Support Officer (AO3) and help us prepare, prevent, and manage the consequences of fire and rescue services in Queensland communities. Your Opportunity As a Support Officer in our Southern Region - Queensland Fire & Rescue sector, you will play a key role in the organisation by bringing your administrative expertise and detail-oriented skillset to QFD. Based in Charlton, Toowoomba West Zone, you'll use your human resource and finance administration capabilities, database management, and stakeholder engagement experience to: - Provide high-level administrative support, including preparing correspondence, reports, and coordinating official functions. - Manage human resource records, leave requests, staffing arrangements, and training course documentation to ensure compliance with policy and procedures. - Utilise databases to create, update, analyse, and report on departmental activities to maintain effective records and information access. - Handle general office tasks such as diary management, travel arrangements, mail distribution, and maintenance of asset records. - Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support key processes and achieve unit outcomes. - Undertake administrative duties during emergencies and disasters, including short-notice activations or after-hours operations. What You'll Bring We want to hear from you if you: - Hold a non-restricted C Class driver licence (highly desirable). - Have government purchasing qualifications (Level 1) (highly desirable). - Possess knowledge or experience in human resource and finance systems and database management (highly desirable). - Are adaptable to working outside standard hours, including weekends and night shifts during emergency operations. - Demonstrate the ability to prioritise workloads effectively and perform duties independently using a high level of initiative. - Show proven experience in fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders and contributing to exceptional service delivery.
